Barcelona, April 17–18, 2026: Over 3,000 participants gathered for one of the largest progressive mobilisations ever organised

Chantal Kambiwa, General Coordinator of the Socialist International and President of the Front Camerounais, took part in the Global Progressive Mobilisation, held on April 17–18, 2026 in Barcelona, alongside progressive leaders from around the world, at the invitation of the President of the Government of Spain and President of the Socialist International, Pedro Sánchez.

This mobilisation, among the most significant ever organised by progressive forces, represented a key moment of convergence and collective engagement in response to today’s global challenges.

On this occasion, strong and forward-looking messages were delivered in support of:

            •          a progressive economy, grounded in social justice, stronger public services, and dignified living conditions for all;

            •          peace, dialogue, and respect for international law;

            •          equality and the fight against all forms of discrimination;

            •          a just ecological transition that protects the planet while leaving no one behind;

            •          a human-centred digital transformation and artificial intelligence, respectful of rights and social balance;

            •          the strengthening of democracy the rule of law, and fundamental freedoms.

In a global context marked by profound transformations, this mobilisation reaffirmed the importance of building collective responses based on cooperation, respect, and solidarity among peoples.
